the weight of these decisions
The weight of these decisions documents an hour of holding and swinging seven 3 pound sandbags made from mattress casings from around the neck. A reference to the Coleridge poem, Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, it is about carrying the consequences of our own decisions over a period of time. The weight of the human brain is approximately 3 pounds.
Although decisions are not tangible items, they are manifestations of us. We feel the levity of our thoughts and the weight of our emotions. This work attempts to legitimize the realities of our actions and the very real effects on ourselves.
